Having a face plate for your 7.1 system is really the icing on the cake. It makes the installation look clean and professional, and you never have to worry about which wire goes to what speaker.

Once you have all the wires in the right place the install can not be any easier, just push in the wires and done.

My only complaint is I wish they came with a few more screws for mounting it to the wall. I had some extra dry-wall screws laying around and I needed them to complete the install, and this is why I dinged the 'ease of use score'

I highly recommend

This wall plate is great for allowing multiple speakers. You can wire up speakers without the banana plugs, but I would not recommend it. I learned the hard way. The banana plugs are cheap compared to the time you will be spending on wiring without them.

Obviously this kind of audio accessory is meant for people that are building a new home or already have wires installed in their walls. If that's you, and you know a little about wire stripping and clamping, you'll find this a cinch to use and it looks fantastic vs. extra feet of wire all over the place. I used banana plugs on the outside for aesthetics, but you can also just screw in the bare wire. Sound quality is wonderful when good contact is made with all wires (of course.) For the price I thought the until felt really high quality.

Very nice wall plate, by far the cheapest I found for a wall plate that can handle 7.2 setup. No matter what brand you buy, it is still 16 posts jammed in a 2 gang wall plate. Make sure you postion the holes for the speaker wires all in a direction you can get to them before you mount it. Also cut off the whole back of the 2 gang box you use, it is nearly impossible to run all the wires through the little slots and still get the plate on. Took about 10 minutes to remove all the speaker posts from the plate and put them all the same direction before I started and another 10 minutes for wire connection and plate mounting. The hardest part is getting your fingers in there to tighten down spinner onto the speaker wire. Well worth the effort not to have 7 speaker wires and an RCA hanging out of your wall like a horse tail.

Gaining access to the terminals on the backside is very cramped if your wiring the wire to the posts directly. But I managed to get them all wired without to much trouble. I used RCA bananna plugs on the front side and wired the wires to posts on the backside to save money and still maintain a nice looking install. looked good installed for about a week - the weight of the bananna plugs (in my application all the posts were used) relative to the wall anchors used is such that the entire plate popped out of the wall. Now I have a big hole to patch - and have to try something else. Such as life.
